Peacefully with her family at her side at the Alexandria Community Nursing Home on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Blanche Pigeon (nee Legault) of Alexandria; age 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Bruno Pigeon and cherished mother of Jacques E. Pigeon, Q.C. (Anne-Marie Gravelle) and Claudette Pigeon-Wallace (Roderick Poitras). Special grandfather of Lynn and Karen Wallace. Dear daughter of the late Napoleon Legault and the late Constance Leblanc. Predeceased by her siblings Paul, Edgar, Procule, Eddie, Leo and Hortense Proulx. She is survived by her brother Elzear, her sister-in-law Rita Legault and two brothers' in-law: Rev. Father Léo-Paul Pigeon, o.m.i. and Émile Pigeon. Blanche will be sadly missed by all and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, (525-2772) on Thursday June 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église Sacré-Coeur, Alexandria, on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Finnan’s Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Blanche, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows – Memories live.
